Nottingham:

Nottingham is a cosmopolitan City and is famous for being the home of Robin Hood and where the Raleigh Chopper was made.

Nottingham is home to not just one but two Universities. The Nottingham Trent University and The University of Nottingham are both world renowned learning establishments.

There can never be a dull moment living in Nottingham. The City offers many diverse things to do on days and nights off.

You could choose a wild night out visiting the various bars, pubs, clubs or restaurants. Or why not relax outside walking, cycling or exercising at one of Nottingham’s parks and outdoor spaces.

Take a walk round one of the various galleries, historical buildings or museums.

You could spend a Saturday shopping in the City centre or at one of Nottingham’s many markets.

Nottingham has something for everyone. The City provides you with a diversity of cultures and many international students come specifically to Nottingham to attend these two large Universities.

See our small guide below for some essential requirements to consider for when renting a student property with Tetris UK.

Things to consider before you start looking for your next rented accommodation

  • The minimum number of bedrooms required for your household size
  • Preferred location (close to work, university, good access to bus/tram routes or shopping)
  • Rental budget excluding utility bills
  • Do you require parking or a garden?

For students

  • When looking for a property for the current academic year we suggest you start viewing as soon as possible. It’s a good idea to start looking for a property as early as November to be able to find the best accommodation in time for the academic year
  • Viewings will always be arranged at times to suit you and you will be accompanied by a member of staff who can give advice and answer any questions you may have.

Deposit

Once you have decided on a property you will have to pay a “holding deposit” to hold the property. If the landlord declines to grant the tenancy, it will always be refunded. However if you decide not to proceed for any reason or fail to provide complete and accurate information which results in a failed application, the holding will be refunded less £40 + VAT referencing fee.

International Students

If for any reason an international student is unable to provide a UK resident guarantor, we will require a higher security deposit. Please ask us for more details if this is the case.

Tenancy Agreements Periods

The tenancy term for students is 12 months. This is an assured short hold tenancy. The final month will always allow the landlord access to the property to complete any works or alterations required. This includes cleaning to make sure the property is ready for the next academic year students.

We always make sure there is someone here at Tetris UK to help with any enquiries regarding a letting, both before and after you agree to rent through us. If you still have any further questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact us.
